The suspect behind the killing of Cherry Pie Picache's mom was finally sentenced. The penalty for the crime that he made which is robbery with homicide is reclusion perpetua or imprisonment that lasts up to 40 years.
He was convicted by Judge Alfonso Ruiz from the Quezon City Regional Trial Court guilty of the death of Zenaida Sison inside her house in Quezon City. The 75-year-old was found lifeless.
The man Michael Flores was a worker of Mrs. Sison confessed that he did the gruesome act using a knife and a piece of wood that became the murder weapons.
He admitted that he was under the influence of drugs when he decided to get in the house with the help of a screw driver. He gathered the money and the jewelries of the victim, but the owner caught him in the act. He repeatedly hit her with the wood and stabbed her to death.
There was a court order asking the suspect to pay the amount of P1,245,615 for the damages plus P50,000 for the moral damages and another P50,000 for the civil indemnity.
