Kenneth Cobonpue claims that it is uncomfortable for him to find out that there is an illegal reproduction of his designs in Tagaytay City.
For your information, Kenneth Cobonpue is a well-known Filipino furniture and industrial designer whose works are being recognized worldwide are being praised in the homes of the Hollywood Royalty.
Two years ago, he found out that a shop in Tagaytay that was identified as RSK is reproducing replicas of his works. And on December 8, he went to Tagaytay to witness the destruction of the replicas of his works that were illegally reproduced!
Tagaytay City Judge Jaime Santiago released an order to destroy all the items that are made or copied from Cobonpue's creations. Replicas of the ones that was bought by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie with Cobonpue was also found in the said replica shop.
"If we want to be the creative capital of Asia and the world, I think it's high time we protect our own design industry." Cobonpue stated in an interview earlier before the said order was implemented.
